Rants and Raves
This little teenage peace of shit thought he was hot stuff, got wasted and drove the wrong way on the interstate the other night. Of course the end of that story is he slammed his Wrangler into a car, killing the two people inside. In the news biz I hear this stuff all the time, but this one really bothers me -- especially after I checked out the kid's myspace page. He reminds me of the no-good assholes I went to high school with. Also, I was on the interstate in the same spot where that couple got killed only a half hour earlier. Sure my 4Runner would probably have crushed the brat, but still -- it could be my charred remains investigators were looking at.The kid's page is full of get-better messages from his friends. I really wanted to write in a warning to all of them: Act stupid and you'll spend the rest of your life haunted by what you did and maybe even the next 10 years in jail -- that is if you survive. I told my mom the story and I hope she passes it on to my little brother. She said that teen better hope he doesn't wake up because his life is over. As a journalist I'm supposed to put my feelings aside and write objectively. I did that all day at the office, but now I just want to condemn.
Ok, I had to get that rant out of my system. I've been a busy girl so I haven't had much time to blog lately. I've decided dating looks more fun on TV than it is in reality and that when you have a busy
social life reading the newspaper becomes a chore instead of a relaxing pasttime. I've also decided that if Keith Urban isn't past his womanizing days, he's free to use me anytime. I went to see him in concert with my sis and Tracey and he was awesome! That hair is so sexy. Deep down I still have dreams of marrying a musician. Although I have enjoyed dating guys with body-building muscles in the past, there is nothing that compares to the defined arms and chest that come from guitar playing. Besides -- having talent is hot. Wow, that sounded a little too Paris Hilton.Anyhow, in honor of my Keith Urban kick, here's a few lyrics for y'all:
