Moving On Up

Eric and I are doing well for ourselves, in case anyone was wondering. We are finally getting settled in the house, so once I have a desk set up where I can keep my computer hooked up to the Internet and have my camera set to add new pictures, I'll be able to blog much more. For now, I'm snagging a picture of this very cool new Toyota Tundra. It's the brand new, redesigned 2007 -- and it's now Eric's! Well, for lease at least. We decided this is the best thing for us right now. It has a full back seat so there's plenty of room for a kid in the next three years. If that vehicle is still working for us, we can buy it then.

It's beautiful, isn't it? Finally a truck that I would like to drive. Besides, I have it on good authority that Kenny Chesney drives on. Anyhow, so things are good. I'll be much happier when tax season is over though and I actually get to see my boy for more than a few hours each week.

Merry Christmas!

I just wanted to wish everyone happy holidays. I've been too busy to sit down and do Christmas cards this year. Everything has been hectic with buying the house and dealing with work and finding Christmas presents. I can't believe the end of the year is almost here!

I hope everybody has a wonderful holiday season and is looking forward to the new year. I know I am! All are welcome at the animal house Eric and I will be running so come visit any time.

I'm Gonna Go Live In A House!

Hey everybody. I have to pass on the awesome news that Eric will soon be a homeowner. He put an offer in on a house that both of us fell in love with, and they negotiated and accepted an offer this afternoon. I know it's not technically my house, but I'm really excited he and I will have a place together in just a few months. I had planned on sticking in my apartment through the end of my lease on July 1, but I can't wait to pack up and move into the home. The best part is, it has a fenced-in yard so we can throw the dogs out any time we want.
We already have big plans for the place, but it's going to take us some time to get the money for the stuff we want. We'd like to build a deck this summer, but we need to put out the money for a lawnmower first. Then the next time we get to spend big money on entertainment it's going to a pool table. Anyhow, everything is really exciting right now and it's going to take every ounce of strength I have not to waste money buying stuff for the house for the next few months. I'm even excited to buy one of those mad long Swiffers to clean the ceiling fan in the living room (it's vaulted). I better get back to work before I get busted.

A few more pics . . .

Here's what else I've been up to:

The other weekend Eric and I went to his 10th high school reunion.

But a few weeks before that we had some major partying to do up in Boone. Eric is an Appalachian grad, so we visited my sister and then headed to tailgate with some of his buddies.

No More Road Runner For Me

My computer at home has completely gone down the tubes, and since I spend all my time at Eric's I figured I would cancel my Internet service and save $45 a month. So, this is going to be short until I have a chance to sit down at lunch and update next week. I finally have some pictures to post. I got a photo of Eric with his new puppy. Too bad none of the cute shots of Teddy turned out. For now Teddy and Harley, the new pup, are the best of friends. Harley is already growing like a weed so Teddy can walk under her and she can walk under Gemini (Eric's other dog). He called them Russian dolls this morning. I thought that was cute.

I never thought there was such a thing as too many pets (except when it comes to those crazy people who have like 85 cats) but I definitely think we've reached our limit. Anyone who's done the math by now realizes there are 3 dogs and 2 cats between me and Eric, so should we all end up living in the same place it's going to be a full house. I'll probably like the puppies much more after this weekend. For the past several weekends Eric and I have been going out of town to visit a variety of people and we're exhausted. I plan on laying in bed as long as possible tomorrow, and then it's time to get down to work and clean my dirty, yet not lived in, apartment.

I'll update soon, I swear!

You never really realize how busy you are until you look at a calendar and can't imagine where the year went. Part of that may be a complication from dating my neighbor. When you live so close together it's way too easy to spend all your time together and get nothing else done. My ironing board has been sitting in my living room for two weeks and now it's time to do laundry all over again.

Anyhow, just wanted to pass on something I found amusing. While Eric and I were in Charleston for the holiday weekend we went to meet Maribeth in Folly Beach. She took us out to eat with one of her boy toys and I found this lawyer's office with a shark head mounted above it. I thought to myself, "That's an interesting metaphor if ever I saw one." I'm sure my dad would do the same thing if his practice was at the beach. Hope you guys enjoy the picture, and pretty soon I'll give a more thorough account of my recent activities.
